The Companies Registration Department at the Ministry of Commerce has introduced a package of new services aimed at strengthening company registration and compliance procedures for both local and foreign entities. These services are part of the government’s broader efforts to modernize the business environment and support Iraq’s digital transformation.
The new services include:
- Renewal of incorporation certificates for companies that have lost, damaged, or do not possess the current approved certificate form, with the support of electronic payment.
- Issuance of certified copies of registration licenses for branches of foreign companies.
- Access to branch registration decisions.
- Issuance of adaptation and name-change letters for branches of foreign companies registered with the Department.
These enhancements are designed to simplify compliance, reduce administrative delays, and provide businesses with more secure and efficient access to essential corporate documentation.
However, the Department confirmed that the official launch of these services has been postponed until September 1, 2025, in order to complete a comprehensive cybersecurity review before activation.
