Iraq’s 2021 Budget Appealed by PM Mustafa Al-Kadhimi?

The Council of Ministers has given the PM Mustafa Al-Kadhimi the authority to appeal certain sections of the new 2021 budget to the Federal Supreme Court. However, this is to ensure that the budget goes according to the White Paper’s vision, which the current government is following to rebuild the country’s economy.

• Almost 90 Billion dollars in size with a deficit of 19.79 Billion dollars.
• The budget set the daily oil exports at 3.25 million BPD, including 250,000 from the Kurdistan region, with $45 per barrel.
• The reliance on oil is down to 72% of the total budget.
• Changes to currency value, $1 = 1,450 IQD.
